Sustainable Design & Materials

The use of locally sourced stones, each one carefuly hand-dressed by local artisans adds an authentic touch to the structure. Additionally, the previously used as electricity poles wooden beams, have been given a new life as exposed ceiling beams, adding warmth and charm to the space. These thoughtful design choices enhance the home’s natural beauty and support our local community.

Eco-Friendly Systems

We manage water waste responsibly using biodegradable methods. Grey and black water are collected separately. Tap water is filtered to remove fats, while toilet water goes through a septic tank for natural degradation. Both types of water are then treated with air bubbles to reactivate the oxygen needed bio-life. This treated water flows to a collector tank and is pumped to a wetland, where plants filter and consume the nutrient-rich water. These plants are later recycled into mulch. The clean wastewater is reused in the garden, reducing the need for fresh water and fertilizers.

Additionally, we collect rainwater for irrigation and try to capture as much runoff water as possible to help it infiltrate the soil.

Saltwater Swimming Pool

One of the standout features is the saltwater swimming pool—an eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical pools. Saltwater pools are not only gentler on the environment, but they also offer a variety of health benefits. Unlike chlorine pools, which can dry out your skin, irritate your eyes, and produce harsh chemical smells, saltwater pools are known for being much softer on the skin. The gentle saltwater helps maintain skin hydration and can even improve conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Additionally, saltwater pools produce fewer harmful by-products, meaning you’re swimming in a purer, healthier environment. With lower levels of chlorine, the air around the pool is cleaner, too, providing a more pleasant and natural experience.
